The debates of Le Monde Afrique: Women, the future of the African continent
23 février 2016
THE AFRICAN WORLD invites you to its conference on: WOMEN, THE FUTURE OF THE AFRICAN CONTINENT
The second edition of the « Debates of the African World », a series of meetings and discussions on the major issues facing the African continent, will take place on 23 February at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris.
For this new edition, the editorial staff of Le Monde has chosen to focus on the situation and role of African women, who are probably the most vulnerable to imbalances and violence, but who are also the continent’s greatest opportunity for growth, health and stability.
For a whole day, inspiring personalities – women and men – with remarkable commitment will come to share their experience on these African women, whose unique trajectories testify to their essential role in the continent’s development.
This event is supported by the World Bank, the OSIWA Foundation, the Agence Francaise de Développement and the Fonds Français Muskoka, supporting the joint work of four UN agencies (the World Health Organization (WHO), UN Women, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)).
